Promoting Excellence in Aviation Engineering


Specific Objective

The wider objective of this project is to facilitate fruitful cooperation aerospace aviation academia, business and society in Ukraine by preparing human resources and developing approaches applicable in the market conditions of the country.

Outcomes and outputs

1. Development and dissemination the strategic paper on development of entrepreneurship, fundrising and technology transfer in Ukrainian universities of aviation engineering till August 2007;

2. Establishment the ex-territorial branch of the Aircraft-Building Faculty, KhAI is at the basis of Aviation scientific-technical complex after O.K.Antonov in line with acting Ukrainian legislation till August 2007;

3. Development the 6 in-service training courses for 2 selected target groups of prospective MSc and PhD students of the Aircraft-Buiding Faculty, KhAI, university administration and management of 8 key Aerospace Engineering enterprises till August 2008.

Description

The wider objective of this project is to facilitate fruitful cooperation aerospace aviation academia, business and society in Ukraine by preparing human resources and developing approaches applicable in the market conditions of the country. Upon identifying this strategic goal, drafting
content of the project, the consortium members have decided to implement it as a 2-year UM JEP project due to the scope and intensity of the work to be done in its framework.


During these 2 years of the project implementation the following outcomes will be produced:

- The strategic paper on development of entrepreneurship, fundrising and technology transfer in Ukrainian universities of aviation engineering is produced;

- The branch of the Aircraft-Building Faculty, KhAI is established at the basis of ANTK;

- The 6 in-service training courses for KhAI management staff, ANTK administration and prospective PhD students are developed are taught in KhAI.


Besides these outcomes, the project consortium will give special attention for dissemination of the project results, best practices and modern approaches developed in the framework of this project among academic institutions in Ukraine and their partners – aviation, aerospace and general scienceintensive machinery: ANTK, State enterprise “Kiev Aviation Factory”, JSC “Motor-Sich” (Zaporozhie), Kharkov aviation plant, JS “Aviacontrol”, “FED”, South machinery-building plant, Design Bureau “Yuzhnoe” (Dnepropetrovsk). Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Ministry of Labour and Social Politic confirm their interest in this project and participate in it as partners. Both of them will provide all necessary institutional support and will be very much involved in dissemination activities and promotion of the proposed courses among Ukrainian technical universities.


Joining the efforts of key HEI in Aerospace Engineering - National Aerospace University “KhAI”, key branch enterprise - Aviation scientific-technical complex after O.K. Antonov and world-known European partners in academic and scientific-research activities will contribute to facilitating fruitful cooperation between aerospace academia, business and society in Ukraine.
